Biography

Ellen Duong is a Senior Research Software Engineer at the Center for Computation and Visualization at Brown University. She received her Masters in Science and Engineering in Computer Graphics and Game Technologies from the University of Pennsylvania in 2018. Currently, she works in collaboration with the People Place and Health Collective to create data visualizations concerning overdoses in Rhode Island.

She is passionate about affecting growth and change. She advocates for advancing women in engineering as well as an interdisciplinary approach to STEM incorporating art, the humanities and social sciences. She supports students and her community through advising, leadership development, advocacy, and social and cultural programming. Her interests include data visualization, community building, the performing arts, and trying out new recipes.
