Master of Public Affairs
The Master of Public Affairs (MPA) is a rigorous, one-year program that prepares students to be public policy leaders, analysts and advocates in government, politics, and the nonprofit and private sectors, both in the U.S. and abroad.
Our MPA students gain key professional skills for an impactful career in public affairs — in just one year.
Graduate Program in Development
The Watson Institute's Graduate Program in Development (GPD) supports training and research for Ph.D. candidates. The GPD seeks to promote social science research on processes of social, political and economic transformation in the developing world with a special focus on the problem of inequality.
Postdoctoral Fellows Program
The Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University aspires to promote a just and peaceful world through research, teaching, and public engagement. Central to this mission is the Watson Postdoctoral Research Associates (formerly Fellows) Program, an effort to galvanize the careers of young social scientists conducting research related to the Institute’s three core thematic areas: development, governance/public policy, and security.
