Watson Postdoctoral Fellow Justin Haner was awarded the 2024 Kenneth Waltz Outstanding Dissertation Award from the American Political Science Association (APSA) for his dissertation, “Organizing Peace: An Algorithmic Analysis of Four Centuries of International Law and the Decline of War.”
Kenneth N. Waltz Dissertation Award is awarded to a successfully defended doctoral dissertation on any aspect of security studies submitted during the previous calendar year. Manuscripts are judged according to originality in substance and approach, significance for scholarly or policy debate, rigor in approach and analysis and power of expression. This year, Haner was selected as the recipient of the award in APSA’s International Security Section.
