Biography

Ulviya Narmin Hoque Chisty earned her bachelor’s degree in international relations, global studies, and Asian studies from the University of Texas at Austin. As a research assistant at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work, she studied the impacts of mass violence on rural communities like Uvalde, Texas. As a Youth Ambassador for CARE USA, she researched youth involvement in policy-making and advocated for the Farm Bill at the Capitol. Fluent in multiple languages, including Bengali, she aims to work on international child labor rights upon completing her degree. Ulviya is a professional Kathak dancer and visual artist. Originally from Dhaka, Bangladesh, she has also lived in the Netherlands, Scotland, and Wales.
