Biography

Ángel Morataya recently earned his bachelor’s degree from Brown University as a double concentrator in Latin American and Caribbean studies and international and public affairs. Ángel served as the co-president of Brown’s Latinx Student Union and has also partnered with Rhode Island for Community Justice (RICJ), Progreso Latino, and English for Speakers of Languages (ESOL) in collaboration with the Swearer Center. He is particularly interested in developing policy that aims to address inequalities in the juvenile justice system and promotes sustainable development. A native of Carteret, NJ, Ángel is of Dominican and Salvadoran descent and is proficient in Spanish and French. He hopes to study criminal law and pursue a career in public service upon graduation.
