Research

I am interested in thinking through how the global security dynamic will evolve in an era where superpower relationships are in flux and many of the self-imposed strictures of the post-1945 and post-1989 order fall away.  This uncertainty is further compounded by emerging technologies and new adaptive weaponry that confer advantages to nimble, often non-state actors that are difficult to offset with state power.  I would also like to delve into implications for governance and democracy of a post-unipolar world order.
