Biography
Emmanuel Colmenares earned a bachelor’s degree in Slavic Studies from Brown University with a concentration in Russian language and literature. His interest in international policy was shaped by a study abroad experience at Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan. Emmanuel served for five years in the U.S. Marine Corps, with deployments to Korea, Thailand, and Japan. He is passionate about international sports and drug policy, particularly the legal frameworks affecting Olympic athletes. A native Spanish speaker, he is also proficient in Russian. He is originally from Kissimmee, Florida, and was a member of Brown’s figure skating team.
