Biography

Carl Austin Miller Grondin graduated from Michigan State University with dual bachelor's degrees in social relations & policy and philosophy. He served as Student Body Vice President and focused his service on creating and initiating accessible pathways that addressed all aspects of student life. While interning in the Michigan House of Representatives Democratic Caucus, Carl Austin worked as a political strategist, specializing in rural outreach and communication. He also worked as a content creator and data analyst for Globaleur in Seoul, South Korea. Prior to attending Brown, Carl Austin served as the youngest and first LGBTQ+ Trustee on the Dryden, MI School Board of Education. Carl Austin’s policy interests include familial policy, arts, culture & religious policy, government operations and political performance. Carl Austin is conversant in Norwegian. He is from Dryden, MI.
