Jawaher Al-Shamari recently earned her bachelor’s degree in foreign service from Georgetown University- Qatar and completed an honors thesis titled “Legalized Patriarchy: An Examination of Qatari Women’s Lived Realities in the Private/Public Spheres”. Based on her undergraduate performance and community service work, she received a national prestigious award from his highness, Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Al-Thani. Previously, Jawaher worked at Qatar University as a teaching assistant and hopes to work as an academic researcher in the renewable energy and climate change advocacy space.
