TiRADE (Tariff Rates in Announcements, Declarations, and Events), created by Şebnem Kalemli-Özcan and colleagues at the Global Linkages Lab, records every time the president attached a number to a U.S. tariff, whether in a speech, a Truth Social post, an executive order or a White House statement.
The current release includes nearly 750 rate statements from Jan. 21, 2025, through Oct. 9, 2026. Each entry lists the countries and products involved, whether the rate was threatened, announced or implemented, a link to the source and the exact quote behind it. Most entries are timed to the minute in Eastern time, the standard U.S. markets trade on.
The data shows how much of the tariff record lives outside official policy. Only about a third of the source records are executive orders. The rest, the researchers note, is the noise markets trade on: speeches, social media posts and White House statements, with stated rates as high as 350%.
TiRADE is free to use with attribution and is updated weekly on Mondays.
