
Larry Warner
Biography
Dr. Larry Warner is on the faculty of Brown’s School of Public Health Center for Health Promotion and Health Equity and is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Health Services, Policy and Practice. He serves as the Chief Impact and Equity Officer at United Way of Rhode Island. In this role, he oversees the organization's grantmaking, research and data analytics, innovation, community outreach, 211 helpline, aging and disability resource center, and strategies to advance racial equity. Before United Way, he was the Strategic Initiative Officer for Health at the Rhode Island Foundation. Dr. Warner is President of the Rhode Island Public Health Association, chairs the Governor’s Council on Behavioral Health, and serves on several nonprofit boards and advisory committees. He served previously on Rhode Island's COVID-19 Equity Council and as co-chair of the Rhode Island Commission for Health Advocacy and Equity.
Dr. Warner earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Society and a Master of Public Health degree from Brown University. He earned a Doctor of Public Health degree from The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health with a concentration in Health Equity and Social Justice. His research and practice focus on the implementation and evaluation of strategies to reduce health disparities and advance health equity.
