Woody Young was until recently the President and a Board Member of Solidigm, the flash memory semiconductor company purchased by SK hynix from Intel in 2021. Previous to that role, he served as a Partner and Chairman of Mergers and Acquisitions at Perella Weinberg Partners LLC. He has over 35 years of M&A and investment banking experience.

Before joining Perella Weinberg in 2016, Woody was a Managing Director and Co-Head of the Global Telecommunications, Media, and Technology group at Lazard.  He was previously Global Head of Telecommunications, Media, and Technology at Merrill Lynch.  Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 2008, Woody spent 14 years at Lehman Brothers, where he served as a Managing Director and Head of the Global Communications group.  He also served for several years on the Executive Committee of the Investment Banking Division, the firm’s Strategy Committee, and as Chairman of the firm’s Senior Client Council. He began his career at Bain & Company.

Woody was selected as a White House Fellow and special assistant to the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, where he concentrated on international affairs from 1991 to 1992. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and served on its Term Membership Committee for more than a decade. Woody serves on the board of Frontier Communications, a publicly traded telecommunications company. On the Frontier board, he chairs the Strategic Review Committee and is a member of both the Audit and Nominating & Governance committees.

He received a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Brown University, a Master’s in International Relations from Cambridge University, and a Master’s in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management.
