Biography

Thomas Contreras recently graduated cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles with bachelor’s degrees in political science and public affairs and a minor in environmental systems and society. His policy interests include criminal justice reform, education policy, and expanding economic opportunity. Thomas has interned with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, the California State Assembly, and the International Sleep Products Association, where he contributed to legal research, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and government affairs. At UCLA, he was the first Latino elected to serve as the Student Body Internal Vice President in the university’s history. Thomas has intermediate proficiency in Spanish and is from Sacramento, California.
