Shwetha Mangalesh
Biography
Shwetha Mangalesh is a physician specializing in newborn eye health and pediatric retina, with extensive experience implementing telemedicine-based eye screening programs across Kenya, Uganda, and India. Before joining Brown, she served as the research lead for the EYESHA Foundation, a UK-based nonprofit dedicated to preventing childhood blindness through innovative screening and healthcare policy advocacy. Shwetha previously completed her postdoctoral training and fellowship at Duke University, focusing on pediatric retina and newborn eye diseases. Upon completing her dual degree in MPH/MPA, she aims to pursue a career in international health & policy, particularly in maternal and child health. Shwetha earned her medical degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in India.
