Shashank Singh is private investor and philanthropist. He lives in London, UK, together with his wife, Maithili Parekh (’02), two children, and a dog.

Shashank retired from the global private equity fund Apax Partners in 2023, having spent 20 years at the firm, where he was an Equity Partner as well as the founder and head of the India office. Shashank joined Apax in 2004 in London, where he specialized in Technology and Telecom deals. During his career with Apax, Shashank led and participated in a number of deals including Fractal Analytics, GlobalLogic, Healthium Medtech, iGATE, and TIM Hellas.

Shashank now leads deals through his family office with a focus in the area of technology, specifically AI companies active in the areas of technology services and software. He currently serves on the board of Ascendion, Inc., a native AI technology services company focused on product and platform engineering, headquartered in Basking Ridge, NJ.      

Prior to joining Apax Partners, Shashank was a strategy consultant with Monitor Company, where he advised clients in the telecoms and high technology sectors.

Shashank serves on several not-for-profit boards including the South Asia Advisory Board of Harvard Business School and the board of the Cambridge India Research Foundation, the India entity of Cambridge University, UK. Shashank and Maithili are founder members of Ashoka University near Delhi, India’s premier liberal arts university founded in 2014. Through their family foundation, Shashank and Maithili support various causes and organizations involved in the protection of vulnerable children, education, and the arts.

Shashank has an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MA in Economics from Cambridge University, and a BA (Honours) in Economics from St. Stephen's College (University of Delhi). As the son of a diplomat, and then through his career, Shashank has lived in 11 countries including the UK, Austria, Israel, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Cyprus, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, the US, and India.
