Pam Thiessen is Partner at theGROUP, a leading bipartisan government relations and strategic communications consulting firm based in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining theGROUP she served for nearly three decades in senior roles in the United States Senate including Staff Director for the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee; Staff Director for the Senate Republican Policy Committee; Senior Policy Advisor at the Joint Economic Committee; Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director to Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) and Legislative Director to Senator John Ensign (R-NV). She also worked in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Pam started her career in the UK House of Commons as a researcher for a Tory MP on the Trade and Industry Select Committee. A native of Washington, D.C. Pam holds a bachelor’s degree from Brown University (1990) and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics (1992). She lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband Marc and four children.
