Kudrat Kontilis
Biography
Kudrat Kontilis most recently worked at the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), where she provided legal services to Afghan asylum seekers, drawing on seven years of experience in gender-based violence asylum claims. She also served as Vice Chair of the San Francisco Immigrant Rights Commission as the first South Asian in the role, where she advised the San Francisco government on issues impacting immigrant communities. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Policy Committee at the San Francisco Women’s Political Committee and as Advocacy Chair of the San Francisco Young Democrats. Her interests include American politics, immigration reform, and governance, with a focus on public service and diplomacy. Kudrat is an attorney from India and holds an LL.M in International Law from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. Kudrat is multilingual and is proficient in reading, writing, and speaking Hindi and Punjabi, and is conversationally proficient in spoken Urdu.
