Alex Mehran, Jr. is the President and CEO of Sunset Development Company in San Ramon, California, representing the third generation of family leadership at the company founded by his grandfather, Masud Mehran, in 1951.

Sunset is a diversified real estate organization focused on developing Bishop Ranch, a nationally recognized 585-acre project with 10 million square feet of office, residential, hotel, and retail space and a daytime population of more than 30,000. During the project’s first decades, Bishop Ranch emerged as a premier office destination, home to dozens of Fortune 500 companies. Since 2010, Sunset has expanded beyond the project's traditional office focus, transforming Bishop Ranch into a "15-minute city" with a Renzo Piano–designed retail district and 2,000 homes that are either complete or under construction. Miles of trails and bike lanes, parks, and a public art master plan have emerged, providing walkable connectivity as the project expands toward its planned 8,000 homes, along with additional hotel and retail development.

Alex was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from Brown University in 2003. He is an avid short-handed ocean racing sailor and, above all, a proud father of four children with his wife, Maggie.
